Education Creates Opportunity

Nanci and Norman Shaman

Nanci and Norman Shaman, circa 1969
Norman Shaman designated the North Idaho College Foundation as the primary beneficiary of his estate. Through his gift, he established the Nanci Shaman Memorial in honor of his wife of 35 years. Nanci passed away in 2004; Norman in 2008.

Since 1933, North Idaho College (NIC) has been adapting to meet the education and training needs of this region. NIC continually looks to the future to evaluate how to provide students with relevant, quality education to best prepare them for opportunities and long-term success. The North Idaho College Foundation proudly partners with NIC to provide additional resources in support of student success and educational excellence.

As you review the information in this newsletter, we hope you consider the various ways you can make a lasting difference in the lives of future generations of NIC students. NIC Foundation is committed to sharing quality resources to encourage and support thoughtful financial and charitable planning. Visit our website at nic.planmylegacy.org to explore information on wills and trusts, beneficiary designations, and the tax benefits of IRA charitable rollovers, gifts of appreciated assets, and the CARES Act.

Legacy gifts truly do make a lasting impact. We are grateful for legacy donors like Norman and Nanci Shaman who designated the North Idaho College Foundation as a beneficiary of their estate. Through their generosity, the Nanci Shaman Memorial endowment provides scholarships in perpetuity to students as they pursue a bright future. This is especially important for students in uncertain times like these.

Education provides opportunities, and we thank you for investing in the dreams of NIC students.

Like the Shamans, you can create opportunities for future generations of NIC students through thoughtful financial and charitable planning. To learn more, contact Rayelle Anderson, Executive Director, at (208) 769-5978 or foundation@nicfoundation.org.
